How Bradicon works

Bradicon takes your image file and converts it — creating an icon resource that can be used for a shortcut, a program, or as a favicon. You can use it as you would any other icon. A Badicon icon resource contains three or five resolutions: 48x48, 32x32, and 16x16 (as well as 128x128 and 256x256). So however you use your icon, the system will automatically choose the appropriate size.

Icons can be made from a number of popular image format. JPGs, Gifs, PNGs, and BMPs can all be converted to icons, and if your image is partially transparent Bradicon will preserve that transparency in the icon file it creates.

Bradicon has its limits. Images that are too large will exceed the memory alloted by the web server, and icon creation will fail. But by resizing your image and trying again, you can skirt this limitation.

Bradicon provides a niche service. Though its potential audience is limitted, it strives to provide a useful and painless service to its visitors. Bradicon is also completely free to use.

Bradicon is web-based and requires no download, barring that of your icon.

Icons not being created?

Your image files might be too big! When analyzing your image if the explicit memory limit is exceeded, your file might not be converted.

But just resize your image, and try again.
